Travel across the High Atlas Mountains to dramatic stone and mud-built fortresses known as kasbahs and fortified villages known as ksars on a tour from Marrakech. Travel with a local guide and driver to Telouet and Taourirt Kasbah as well as Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage ksar. After a breathtaking drive through the High Atlas Mountains and over the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 meters), your first sightseeing of the day is in Telouet. Telouet has one of the most grand kasbahs in Morocco. The site was once the palatial residence and headquarters of the powerful Glaoui tribe. Next, taking a secluded backroad, arrive at Ait Benhaddou. Inscribed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, the Ksar of Ait Benhaddou is a striking example of the architecture of southern Morocco. The ksar, a group of earthen buildings surrounded by high walls, is a traditional pre-Saharan habitat. See the houses crowd together within the defensive walls, which are reinforced by corner towers. Join a guided tour of the ancient settlement, and be sure to walk up to the high point on the hill above the ksar for special views. Your final stop is in Ouarzazate at the Taourirt Kasbah, a former Glaoui palace and the main attraction of the desert oasis city. This 300-room fortress, in part restored, marks the junction of 3 rivers – Dadès, Draâ, and Ziz – as well as numerous caravan routes. Explore the palace and stroll around the kasbah's irregular streets before taking a final transfer back to Marrakech for drop-off, Thanks for your visit

After meeting at our meeting point, we will have a short tour of a local market near our house to buy vegetables and all the other ingredients we will need to cook (No market tour on Friday afternoon). Afterwards, we go home, and the first thing we do is teach you the traditional way of making Moroccan mint tea. And of course, we drink tea while we get to know each other. The next step is to start the cooking process, where travelers learn new techniques for peeling, chopping, and seasoning the tagines with the right spices, as our grandmothers and mothers do at home. And we usually make 3 to 4 different dishes so that you learn more things in one single class. While we are cooking, we will talk in depth about Moroccan cultures, traditions, and history. Travelers will work together as one team to make different dishes, and this helps them learn more dishes than just one specific dish by using different spices and we also cook vegan, vegetarian, and glutin-free food. The cooking class lasts 4 hours from the time we meet to the time you eat, and of course, as you are on holiday, we are not stressed with the time; you feel like you are home. At the end of the class, it is time to taste and eat what you have cooked, and usually in the evening we share a link to our website where you can find recipes for the dishes we make and many other dishes.
